Poor working memory or attending skills are often misinterpreted as reading comprehension deficits. When a student scores poorly on reading comprehension tests, it is often not a problem with comprehension at all. You might assess a student you thought had poor reading skills and discover they can actually understand the meaning of single words and individual sentences with little trouble. So when this student reads reads a longer passage, why they can't answer basic questions about the text?

Sara Warren’s little guy was born prematurely at 30-weeks. At 18-months, he was diagnosed with a speech & language delay and started therapy right away. Sequencing is all about arranging information, objects, and actions into a particular serial order. Early on, we learn sequencing when we learn to speak - language is sounds and words produced in a specific order to achieve a certain result.

In reading, eye tracking is the ability to follow the sequence of printed text, and to keep your eyes on what you're currently reading, without jumping around to other parts of the page. Students who struggle with eye tracking, have trouble maintaining focus and moving their eyes to follow the left-to-right sequence of printed text.
