No! Definitely not.
It is, though, the one of the best ways to teach language to anyone who is having a difficult time. Children with language delay, speech impediments, or young kids who are just learning to talk can benefit as well. Once children have use of language and can communicate, a lot of other undesired behaviors subside (like self-injury or tantrums).
